Barony of Delftwood

Being the Report of the Court of Their Excellencies, Edward Harbinger and Anastasie de Lamoure, Ninth Baron and Baroness of Delftwood, held at The Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins in Their Barony of Delftwood on the 12th day of February A.S. 45. Master Fridrikr Tomasson officiating herald. Mistress Aheydis von Körckhingen reporting herald.

Morning session:

Master Don Ian Muir, known as Keyard was called before Their Excellencies. Their Excellencies spoke warmly of Master Keyard's exceptional skill at rapier and generosity in teaching the fencers of the Barony. In recognition of his service as protector and instructor, Their Excellencies made him a Companion of the Order of the Millguard.

Afternoon session:

Their Excellencies invited before them all youths in attendance, from whom They solicited affirmation of the event's pleasant and amusing aspects. The youths, after unanimously and enthusiastically confirming their enjoyment of the day's activities, were given small cakes from the Baronial larder.

Their Excellencies invited before them all for whom this was their first visit to the Known World. All were welcomed by Their Excellencies and invited to return that they might know and enjoy the hospitable nature of the populace of these lands.

Their Excellencies requested the presence of Their Fencing Champion, Lord Michael Gladewyne. Their Excellencies thanked Lord Michael for the service and protection he provided during his tenure as champion. His term of service being thus ended, Lord Michael was released from his duties.

Their Excellencies called before them Don Benedict Fergus atte Mede. Having proved his worth in the fencing lists that day, Don Fergus was proclaimed the Baronial Fencing Champion, was invested of the regalia of that station and was bid to take his place among Their Excellencies' protectors. Lord Michael Gladewyne was recalled into Their Excellencies' presence, where he was bid to be joined by those members there present of the Order of the Mistral. Their Excellencies called upon His Excellency Oeric Thegn, founder of the order, to recount to the populace the meaning and purpose of the order. Oeric Thegn did tell those there gathered that the Order of the Mistral recognized those gentles who embody the spirit of the Barony of Delftwood, and whose endeavors arise from the love of what they do rather than the pursuit of reward. Lord Michael, having well demonstrated these qualities, was inducted into the order and made the newest member thereof. Scroll wording by Her Excellency Baroness Clarice Roan. Evening Sessions:

Their Excellencies recognized Lord Marc Gunnarson as the victor of the Single Elimination fencing tournament.

Their Excellencies invited Their Baronial Bardic Champion Lady Éadaoin ingen Chanacáin to conduct the entertainment of the populace at feast, a task which she ably and stylishly completed. There being none to challenge the talents and merits of Lady Éadaoin, Their Excellencies proclaimed her right and privilege to remain as Baronial Bardic Champion for another term of service.

His Excellency Baron Edward announced to the populace assembled the precedent-bearing business that had been conducted at the Baronial Court at the Return of the Holly King on December the 18th, AS XLV, that said awards and recognitions might be made official for the purposes of the baronial and kingdom Orders of Precedence. To wit: Gwydion of Arden was made a Companion of the Windmill; Marcus Claudius Cincinnatus was made a Companion of the Guard of the Mill of Delftwood; and, Lasairfhíona inghean Uí Ghallchobhair was made a Companion of the Guard of the Mill of Delftwood. In other business conducted on that day, Lady Svana in kyrra of Angels Keep was released from duty as the Baronial Arts and Sciences Champion upon the elevation of the territories of Angels Keep from Canton to Shire, and Jan ten Walde was named her successor.

There being no other business before Their Excellencies this day, this Their court was closed.
